She really enjoys the giraffe, not in the new part of Amazonia, but this is her favorite animal. While we were getting close to the giraffe, I was taking pictures and not paying a whole lot of attention. The giraffe came about 6 inches from licking my bald head. Yuck!!!!!!

This past weekend we went to the Zoo. This is one of Ava's favorite things to do. We have a family pass for Evansville’s Mesker Park Zoo and Botanical Gardens. They just finished up a huge renovation, which was a $15 million, 10,000-square-foot South American rain forest addition. This part is super cool. They added a jaguar, howler monkeys, keel-billed toucans, squirrel monkeys, a Baird's tapir, capybara and caiman. Also the Forest of Riches, has a wide variety of tropical plants and trees.

It's crazy how fast the girls are growing up! Chloe is now 8 weeks old and Ava is 17 months old. We are all doing pretty good. Chloe has a cold and is congested, but other than that all is well. Kristi has been back to work now for 2 weeks, since maturity leave. I am still with the state, waiting for my phone call for the Evansville Fire Department.

Can you believe it, I haven't forgotten how to write. Life has been very busy. I did want to take the time out and write a little for all of you. We are all doing well. Kristi went to the Doctor today for a check-up and all is well. She is now 35 weeks along. Kristi thinks she will go a little early. Who knows? We are all doing well, Ava is getting big. She is saying a few words like turtle, apple, banana, dadda, momma, and hair. She can also tell you were her hair, eyes, teeth, mouth, nose, ears, hands, feet, and legs are. Here are a few pics of Kristi prego.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AVA!!!
Yesterday we had Ava's Birthday party at our house. We had about 21 people in attendance for the party. I am sorry for those who could not make it. Some of you live too far away in other States, some had to work, and some were sick and had a fevers. We are very grateful to all of you who could make the party, and celebrate Ava's 1st birthday. We had lots of fun. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AVA!!

AVA IS 1 YEAR OLD!!!!!
This week has been a very busy week. On Monday, it was Ava's birthday. Kristi and I took off work and spent the day with her. We went and got her first hair cut, then we went and had lunch with Nana, Papa, Aunt Dawny, Drew and Derrick, at Hacienda. They sung there happy birthday speciality song to Ava and brought her out a chocolate mudslide (2 giant chocolate chip cookies just baked in a skillet with Ice cream on top). It was very yummy. Next Ava went home and took a nap, when she woke up we went to the mall did some shopping and then Ava got a new pair of shoes. She had a very busy and fun day.

Christmas was so fun. It was great to watch Ava at her first Christmas. At first she didn't do to much opening of the presents, but after some persuading and nudging she had lots of fun opening all the gifts and shredding all the paper. She received lots of toys and clothes.
This weekend and holiday season, Kristi and I spent some time of reflection over this past year. How GOD has blessed us, how he has given us a beautiful daughter and another one on the way, how he has blessed us with a wonderful family and many awesome and amazing friends. Kristi and I truly value the friendships we have and are very thankful that you are in our lives. May GOD bless you and your family the rest of this year and in 2008.

Monday we went to the baby doctor and had an Ultra-sound. We are having a baby girl!!! So we are going to have a Princess #2. Kristi and I will have to spend some time thinking of a little girls name. We only really had a boys name picked out. Kristi was pretty sure we were having a boy. With this feeling we picked out a little boys name and started calling the baby by that name. Then about 6-7 weeks ago we decided to stop using the boys name and just refer to the baby as, the baby. Now we know, and can start preparing.

Wow, can you believe it, Kristi and I put up our Christmas tree last weekend. We have had that tree for three years, this is our 7th Christmas married, and this is the first time we have put up a Christmas tree. We are so very proud of ourselves. If it wasn't for Ava, we may not have put up a tree this year either, who knows. We love it and are glad we finally put up a tree.
Ava was taking a nap and we put it up while she was sleeping. She did help put on the ornaments though. :) When she came down stairs, her eyes got real big and she pointed at the tree. She likes it.
